For My County Friends:

I wanted to give you a heads up about something I missed in the legislative session that will impact your agencies. The legislature just passed a new exception which is effective September 25th, 2025.

HB 2089 was just passed in the 2025 legislative session. The bill deals specifically with the disposition of foreclosed property. In Section 7 (p.9) it adds an additional exception to the public contracting rules for the following: (t) Any agreement that a county enters into with a real estate broker or agent, auctioneer, appraiser or any other person for the purpose of disposing of property in accordance with section 6 of this 2025 Act;

Section 6 deals with Disposition of Foreclosed Property. Please note this does not apply to any brokerage services you may use, but is specific to just the Foreclosed Properties.
